THE GREEN CO WATER SOLUTIONS

Water Conservation, Filtration & Bioremediation

South Africa is facing physical water scarcity by 2025 and the rest of Africa is no different. As fresh water resources become more stressed, and the expansion of water intensive industries continues to put even more pressure on these resources it becomes critical to prepare for a water-scarce future. Companies must shift from water extraction towards water filtration, recovery and reuse. With the technology available today there is no reason to hesitate in adopting a new approach to wastewater treatment and management that increases efficiencies and furthermore enhances profitability.

We help our customers understand, manage and conserve their water consumption. The first step towards effective water management and conservation is visibility of usage. This is done through effective monitoring and management.

Infrastructure, leak repairs and efficient use of water is key to risk mitigation and cost savings. Long term savings are enabled through the optimisation of water usage and leak detection.  These can be put towards capital projects that create further optimisation, savings and efficiencies.

We urgently need to reduce our demand by 16%

37% of the water supply to site is lost through urban infrastructure

50% is lost through efficiencies  on site

Rainwater Harvesting

Installing rainwater harvesting and filtration to supplement municipal demand automatically increases backup storage during droughts or water shedding.

Our water backup and filtration solutions are fully automated and include remote data monitoring to ensure that water supply remains uninterrupted.

Industrial & Municipal Waste Water Treatment

In order to minimise water use and disposal costs, industries can purify wastewater and recapture what would otherwise be discarded and charged by the municipality.  Recycled water can be used for a variety of applications including washing, rinsing, spraying, coating, cooling, boiler water make up, cooling tower make up and fire suppression systems to mention a few.

Even usually problematic and elusive substances like ammonia and copper can successfully be removed from water using industrial grade water purification technology.

The Green Co and partners  develop and implement treatment plans based on the individual needs of major wastewater customers and municipal sewage plants around the world.  Utilising uniquely designed water filtration and bioremediation treatments and associated technologies, wastewater managers can achieve better results in system recoveries and system management whilst maintaining operational stability.

Aeration & Bioremediation

Our range of bioremediation and agriculture enhancement solutions are extremely effective for environmental clean-ups of waterways polluted with organic waste. By enhancing the oxidation of slow to breakdown organic compounds in lakes, rivers and water bodies, our solutions restore the natural balance and stability of these bodies of open water, thereby restoring their capacity to support aquatic life and ensuring safe water use.

Our aeration and bioremediation technologies are a natural, organic, non-toxic, non-caustic, biodegradable and non-pathogenic treatment used in the clean up of contaminated soil and groundwater and complies with the strictest environmental regulations.  The cost benefits prove to generate real bottom-line savings.  By increasing overall efficiencies and greatly reducing removal and handling costs associated with sludge and organic solids, as well as lowering use of polymers and other chemical agents.  These solutions are complementary to current procedures that are in place, in order to maximise their efficiency and reduce new infrastructure cost.

“The UN estimates that 300 – 400 million tonnes of heavy metals, toxic sludge, solvents

and other waste types are dumped into waterways ever year.

These toxins and waste products are destroying aquatic life and polluting our drinking water”

Filtration

Whether looking to filter industrial or borehole water, our array of solutions are capable of supporting the filtration of water into potable or gray water dependent on your needs. The Green Co and partners are capable of designing and installing one of a kind solutions depending on your requirements and budget constraints. Our projects have ranged from installing filtration systems that deliver potable water to rural communities to coordinating and managing industrial filtration to remove particulate and suspended solids from post processing water to ensuring pharmaceutical grade purified water. Our offerings allow us to support solutions across industries.

Grease Traps & Septics

Utilisation of aerobic, facultative and anaerobic mixtures result in a product with exceptional performance in a broad range of environments, working well in the conditions that exist in grease traps, septic systems.

Mining & Industrial Waste Water Treatment

Bioremediation is used extensively by many industrial facilities, such as fabricators, mining operations, food manufacturers and processors, oil & gas refineries, chemical and pharmaceutical plants to stabilise waste water (COD, BOD, TSS, H2S.)

The correct application of bacteria and microbes is extremely effective at lowering effluent waste.  Reduce sludge generation, eliminate odours and ensure system compliance with local regulations.

Water Bodies in dire need of remediation in South Africa

How polluted is South Africa really?

It is predicted that by 2025, South Africas water infrastructure will no longer support the demand in most key cities.

46% water restrictions are expected in 2025.  Current water restrictions sit at 24%.

Whilst there has been strong focus on water supply, we believe the quickest, easiest and most cost effective way of countering this threat is to focus on demand.  If we can reduce our demand we can reduce our supply deficit.

What is even more frightening, is that South Africa’s rivers and dams have are severely contaminated with microbial and faecal pollutants.

The statistics and figures show that wastewater treatments plants are in a state of ill repair in South Africa.  Many communities continue to stand ankle deep in raw sewage because of dysfunctional wastewater treatment works.  These problems will only be exacerbated the closer we get to 2025.
